openDesk is a comprehensive open-source office and collaboration suite developed specifically for public sector organizations and government administrations. Built and maintained by the Centre for Digital Sovereignty (ZenDiS GmbH), a publicly-funded company of the German Federal Government, openDesk integrates proven enterprise-grade open-source tools into a unified, secure platform. The suite brings together powerful components including Nextcloud for file storage and synchronization, Collabora Online for document editing, OX App Suite for email and calendaring, Element (Matrix) for team chat and video conferencing, OpenProject for project management, XWiki for knowledge management, and Univention Nubus for identity and access management. All applications are seamlessly integrated through a single sign-on interface, providing a cohesive user experience. openDesk is designed with digital sovereignty, data protection, and GDPR compliance at its core. It can be self-hosted in on-premises data centers or deployed via German/European cloud providers, ensuring complete control over sensitive government data.
