Hornetsecurity 365 Total Protection

365 Total Protection is Hornetsecurity's cloud security suite for Microsoft 365. It filters inbound and outbound mail for spam, malware, phishing, ransomware and business email compromise with pre- and post-delivery protection, analyses attachments and URLs, encrypts mail (S/MIME, PGP and policy-based), and adds signatures and disclaimers, email continuity and archiving. Higher plans add 365 Total Backup for Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams and Planner with storage in Hornetsecurity's own regional data centers, plus the Security Awareness Service, DMARC Manager, 365 Permission Manager and AI tools such as recipient validation and Teams protection. It is sold in four cumulative plans: Plan 1 Business, Plan 2 Enterprise, Plan 3 Enterprise Backup and Plan 4 Compliance and Awareness. Prices are not published; they come from Hornetsecurity or its partners. MSPs manage customers through the 365 Multi-Tenant Manager for MSPs and the partner Control Panel, with partner pricing from the Bronze partner level up. Ownership: Proofpoint completed its acquisition of Hornetsecurity on 8 December 2025. Hornetsecurity runs as Proofpoint's business unit for MSPs and SMBs, and Proofpoint now markets this suite to MSPs as Proofpoint 365 Total Protection. It is the platform Proofpoint moves Proofpoint Essentials partners to: a migration tool copies settings for Microsoft 365 customers, after which each customer's MX records and connectors are switched over. 365 Total Protection protects Microsoft 365 only; it is a cloud service with no self-hosted option.
