Why We're Here (And Why No Other MSP Podcast Covers This)

The OpenMSP Podcast covers the open-source side of running an MSP: practitioners replacing commercial tools with open-source stacks, what vendor costs really look like, and how AI is changing what small teams can build. Guests are working MSP owners and builders rather than vendors.

Michael Assraf, CEO of Flamingo and founder of the OpenMSP community, hosts the show. He interviews MSP owners and practitioners about the open-source tools they run in production and the decisions behind them.

Before launching, the team reviewed 35 MSP podcasts and found none covering open-source tooling or its effect on vendor costs. OpenMSP fills that gap with practitioner interviews about real production stacks - and Season 1 runs with no vendor sponsorships, so the conversation stays independent.

MSP owners and IT service providers weighing open-source tools, questioning vendor bills, or curious what peers actually run in production. It works for technicians evaluating specific tools and for owners thinking about margins, control, and where the industry is heading.

Every episode lives at openmsp.ai/podcasts, and the show is distributed on major podcast platforms with video versions of the interviews as well. New practitioner conversations are added regularly.

Head to openmsp.ai to join the OpenMSP Slack community, where hundreds of MSPs compare open-source stacks and vendor experiences. Each episode gets a discussion thread there, and community conversations help shape future guests and topics.
